The 10 Best Deck Builders in Charlotte, NC (2026)
Composite, Trex & custom wood deck contractors, ranked.
A new deck is one of the larger exterior investments a Charlotte homeowner makes, and the builder matters as much as the material. We reviewed the area's deck and porch contractors and ranked the ten we'd shortlist, weighing verified reviews, years in business, licensing and insurance, manufacturer certifications (such as Trex's PRO tiers), and the range of projects each company handles.
How we ranked them
Each company was scored on five factors, weighted as follows:- Reputation (35%) — volume and average of verified Google / BBB / directory reviews.
- Experience (25%) — years operating in the Charlotte market.
- Credentials (20%) — NC licensing, insurance, and manufacturer certifications (e.g. TrexPRO / TrexPRO Platinum).
- Scope (15%) — ability to handle full outdoor-living projects (decks, porches, screen rooms), not decks alone.
- Responsiveness (5%) — quoting and communication based on public feedback.
